Ivan Rakitić to reject Juventus and stay at Barcelona - report
The midfielder has also been liked with a move to Inter Milan and other famous European teams
Ivan Rakitić is staying at FC Barcelona, despite reports that he was about to agree to a move to Juventus, according to Cadena COPE. The Croatian midfielder remains a key piece for Ernesto Valverde, but with the arrival of Frenkie de Jong from Ajax next season, there have been rumors of a possible exit.
Gazetta dello Sport had reported Rakitić was on the verge of accepting an offer from the Italian champions, but this newest information tells us that move will not materialize.
It’s well known that Rakitić feels that he is due more money in his contract, something he has even expressed publicly. However, Barça may prove unwilling to offer him a salary bump. Despite this, no increased salary seemingly does not rule out Rakitić staying one more season with the Catalan giants under the terms of his current contract.
Several teams have been linked with buying Rakitić should he be put up for a sale, including Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.
