Vinicius on possible first clásico: “Nothing scares me”

The Brazilian teenager is likely to make his clásico debut

Real Madrid teenage phenom Vincius is ready to take on his first clásico in the Copa del Rey. “Nothing scares me,” he told UOL Sports, “I play for the best team in the world, Real Madrid. I’m not afraid of anything.”

Vinicus has been a part of Madrid’s last eleven matches, starting nine of them. Despite this, he maintained he was unsure if he’d start.

“I’m going to do everything I can to help,” the forward said, “on the right, on the left, in the middle, I’ll continue working to win with Madrid.”

Los Blancos are in good form and have won 5 in a row with 16 goals total.

“This is our best moment since the start of the season,” he continued.

The 18-year-old did not take part in the first meeting between the sides this season. Julen Lopetegui, who coached Madrid then, was criticized for failing to use him consistently. Barcelona won 5-1, and Lopetegui was sacked. Santiago Solari, his replacement, has made it a point to select Vincius, and the young forward has repaid him well so far.

Will Vincius make an impact in his first clásico, or will Barcelona’s defenders keep him in check?
