Yerry Mina to join Liverpool on loan - report
Yerry Mina’s future continues to generate plenty of speculation and the latest rumors say that he’s off to Liverpool on a temporary deal.
According to Ignacio Miguelez at El Chiringuito, the Colombian’s future is already sorted and he will spend next season on loan at Anfield.
Mina arrived in January but hasn’t had many chances to impress. He came on as a substitute against Villarreal which was only his fourth appearance.
He’s clearly the fourth choice centre-back at Barcelona at the moment and while it makes sense to try and get him some game time his departure could leave Barcelona a bit short, especially if Thomas Vermaelen decides he’s fed up with life on the bench.
Barcelona have been linked with loads of centre-backs recently like Clement Lenglet and Matthijs de Ligt but it remains to be seen if they will be splashing out on a new defender with moves for Antoine Griezmann and Arthur lined up. They also have Marlon Santos in the midst of a two-year loan at Nice don’t forget.
Arthur could be the problem for Mina of course. The club only have three non-EU spots in the squad which are currently filled by Philippe Coutinho, Paulinho and Mina.
Although Coutinho is believed to be trying to attain a Portuguese passport, it doesn’t seem to have happened yet. So, if Arthur does come in the summer it may mean that Mina has to make way to make room for the Brazilian in the squad.
