Semedo and Andre Gomes left out of Portugal’s World Cup squad
Barcelona duo Nelson Semedo and Andres Gomes are set for a summer off after they were left out of Portugal’s squad for the World Cup.
The absence of both players is a bit of a surprise but it at least ensures they will both get plenty of rest over the summer.

Semedo’s had a pretty mixed season since joining in the summer and has battled with Sergi Roberto for a place a right-back.
Gomes has featured rarely and it will be a bigger surprise if he is still at the club when the season starts in August.
Manager Fernando Santos attempted to explain why Gomes would not be going to Russia.
“I have great respect for Andre Gomes, the players are all like my children. But I cannot have children and stepchildren.”
