Bartomeu gives Griezmann update
Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has given an update on the club’s reported pursuit of Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann.
There are conflicting reports flying about at the moment regarding Griezmann’s future, some claim he will stay at Atletico, others that he will go to Barcelona.
Bartomeu was asked about Griezmann in an interview with programme El matà de Catalunya Radio on Wednesday and said nothing would happen until July.
“As you will understand, I can not talk about this topic, we have the utmost respect for players who work at other clubs, first we have to close the folder on this season, which ends when June ends and then, on July 1, we see about the next one,” he said.
“Barça are working for next season and I can not say what we are doing, we have been working and we know what we have to do.
”All the Catalans like the best in the world to play in their club, but that is impossible, we have to think that Barça already has very good players, as has been demonstrated this season.”

Of course Griezmann’s release clause reportedly drops from €200m to €100m on July 1st at which point presumably Barcelona will make their move.
