Rumors: Umtiti, Fekir, Arthur, Douglas, Oriol Busquets & Abel Ruiz

Umtiti wants a pay rise

Today’s rumors start with Samuel Umtiti who wants a pay rise at Barcelona. According to El Chiringuito, Umtiti has discovered he earns less than Paco Alcacer and is not impressed.

Barcelona are supposed to be working on a contract extension for the Frenchman and it would probably be a good idea to get round to sorting that out sooner rather than later.

Umtiti has a relatively low release clause of just €60 million and Manchester United have apparently already taken a liking to the centre-back.

Barcelona give up on Fekir

Over at Sport the news is that Barcelona are no longer interested in Lyon duo Nabil Fekir and Houssem Aouar.

The club have dropped their interest in Fekir as they feel they have too many players who are similar to the midfielder, particularly Philippe Coutinho.

They do still like Aouar but feel the 19-year-old is not quite at the level yet to play for the club.

Arthur deal to be wrapped up next week

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before but a deal to take Arthur to Barcelona will be concluded next week, so say Sport.

This is a deal that has been close to completion for some months yet, but Gremio’s André Zanotta says that they are expecting a “positive outcome” next week.

The signs certainly look positive, Arthur has pretty much confirmed he wants to come, but it seems the two clubs are still haggling over a fee.

Barca reject chance to bring back Douglas

Meanwhile, AS bring us the rather entertaining news that Barcelona were offered the chance to bring Douglas back from his loan spell with Benfica ... and said no.

Benfica wanted to send the Brazilian back in the January transfer window as they just don’t really want him anymore.

However, it seems that Barca don’t want him either and he’ll continue with the Portuguese side until the end of the season.

New deal for Oriol Busquets, Abel Ruiz set for the first team

And finally we end today with news that Barcelona are keen to give some of their young stars new deals.

Mundo Deportivo report that Juan Miranda, Oariol Busquets and Jandro Orellana are all set for extensions.

The club are also keen to keep Abel Ruiz at the club and are keen for him to be promoted to the first team squad.
