Rumors: Ajax quartet scouted, Arthur deal close & Barca wanted Morata

Barcelona scout Ajax quartet

Today’s rumours start in the Netherlands, where Barcelona have apparently been to scout four Ajax players.

According to De Telegraaf, Jose Mari Bakero watched Frenkie de Jong, Matthijs de Ligt, Justin Kluivert and Donny van de Beek in action during Sunday’s 1-0 win over PEC Zwolle.

De Jong and De Ligt impressed apparently, but so did 20-year-old midfielder Carel Eiting, who may also now be on Barcelona’s radar.

Barcelona in Brazil to seal Arthur deal

Over at Mundo Deportivo the word is that Robert Fernandez has flown to Brazil to conclude a deal for Gremio midfielder Arthur.

Arthur has received offers from other top clubs but has made it clear he only wants to move to the Camp Nou.

Barca want the transfer completed soon and are considering a deal similar to the one which brought Yerry Mina to the club.

Morata snubbed Barcelona move

As always, we couldn’t resist a sneaky peek at Don Balon who have come up with a story about how Alvaro Morata turned down a move to Barcelona last summer.

Apparently Barca were willing to splash out €100 million on the striker and also offer him a pretty tasty contract.

However, Morata did not fancy a move to Barcelona, while unsurprisingly Real Madrid would not have sanctioned the deal either.
