Marcelino: Valencia will sell Rodrigo if ‘great offer’ arrives

The striker is reportedly a top Barcelona target

Valencia striker Rodrigo Moreno has been linked with a move to Barcelona this summer, and the Spanish champions have reportedly already opened talks over a transfer.

The club’s manager Marcelino has now added further fuel to the fire by stating that while Los Che do not want to sell their striker, they may do if they receive a good offer.

“Rodrigo is not going to leave Valencia because that is not a thought in his head,” he said.

“But, like every player of that age and trajectory, if a great offer arrives, a good one for both parties, the coach has to accept it.

“I have tried to have an important role in discussions, but in sales the coaches cannot be part of that process.

“For us, Rodrigo is a very important player, but it will be the club and the player who decide. There must be an offer that is good for both parties. The market will dictate that.”

Barcelona’s need to bring in a striker was made plain last season, and they have already been linked with a few options.

Rodrigo appears to tick plenty of boxes for the Blaugrana, yet his €120 million release clause could prove a problem.
