Barcelona release new 2019/20 checkerboard home kit
Checks are the new stripes
The time has finally come for Barcelona to release their controversial new home kit for the 2019/20 season.
We have all already seen that Barca are going for a checkerboard design for some reason, and so here it is in all its glory.

The club have attempted to explain their decision to switch from stripes to checkerboard with some waffle on the club’s website.
“The Barça jersey for the 2019/20 season is swapping the traditional blaugrana stripes for a checkerboard print for the first time in Club’s history. The new design takes its inspiration from the city of Barcelona by incorporating the characteristic blocks of its Eixample district, home to some of the most emblematic buildings designed by the great architect Antoni GaudÃ.”

Moving on to the rest of the kit and the shorts and socks are plain blue with a red trim, not a checkerboard in sight which is some thing.
The kit goes on sale tomorrow if anyone, anywhere, wants to buy one.
It’s not that it’s the worst kit in the world (well, it might be), but the main problem is that it’s simply not a Barcelona kit.
