Barcelona closing in on summer move for De Jong - report

Barcelona are said to be closing in on a move for Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong and will meet with the player’s representatives to discuss a deal next week.

According to AS, Barcelona have decided to bring forward their plans to sign De Jong as he has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs.

Barcelona will therefore hope to tie up De Jong this summer in a deal that is expected to cost them around €30-35 million.

The club are hoping to talk personal terms with De Jong’s people next week and there’s a chance he could become their first signing of the transfer window.
