Jordi Cruyff discusses Barcelona rumors

Jordi Cruyff has been talking about his future and specifically rumors linking him with a move to Barcelona.

There has been speculation Cruyff could head to the Camp Nou and take on a sporting director role.

The 44-year-old admits the club is close to his heart but says for the moment it’s purely speculation.

“I think in the last 12-18 months there has always been that rumour coming up. Previously, in other years, there has been talks, maybe not in that role specifically,” he said.

”We’ll see what’s going to happen because it’s a club near my heart, but sometimes that’s not enough reason to make a decision like this.

”Timing has to be right, and we’re not really in a situation to give a clear answer on that. We’ll see, so far it’s only rumours.”

Cruyff is currently in charge of Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv but has already confirmed he will step down from his role this summer.
