Juve hop aboard the Griezmann train

According to AS, Juventus have set their sights on reported Barcelona target Antoine Griezmann after their incredibly disappointing 3-0 midweek loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League. Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic and Gonzalo Higuaín have reportedly disappointed high-ups in Turin after failed expectations of a Champions League trophy in recent years.

The thought is that the transfer would be a move in a different attacking direction with Griezmann as the leading man. For Juventus, the move would be a bit strange unless they make a sale of Dybala or Higuain, or another highly valued player. It isn’t a normal business move for Juventus to pony up that much for a player, and Griezmann would likely cost over 100 million euros, without selling one of their players for a high price. Such as the summer in which they sold Paul Pogba and purchased Higuaín.

It still remains unclear as to what threat Juventus mean to Barcelona in their pursuit of Griezmann this summer. However, it is another world class team that joins both Barcelona and Manchester United as the rumored pursuers of Griezmann’s services.
