President Josep Maria Bartomeu paid tribute to the 26-year-old and said he turned down better offers from other clubs to stay at the Camp Nou.
Bartomeu: Sergi Roberto's had and will have a lot of better offers, but he's decided to stay at Barça. This is his home.

And as for Sergi himself, well he said he wants to stay at Barcelona for as long as possible.
“I have always wanted to be here, I have been a Barça fan since I was little. I have been at Barça for 12 years and my objective is to stay as long as possible,” he said.
”Linking up with Messi is really easy because he makes everything easier. He is the best player in the world and alongside him we are all better.”

Roberto’s been a key player under Ernesto Valverde this season, generally at right-back, making 20 La Liga outings and producing a pretty impressive six assists.
